Flint Engineering, working with Vantage Power and Brunel University and Faraday grant funding issued by the UK government, has undertaken prototype testing to assess the viability of using the Flint Heat Mat for cooling batteries in electric vehicles.

 

Stage one testing proved the concept and demonstrated better battery performance with longer life and lower cost than traditional cooling techniques.

 

Additional work with a second Faraday grant is now underway to deliver full size battery pack demonstrators.
